Hi, I’m Karla 👋
Interesting concept to write an ‘About Me’ isn’t it? It can sometimes be difficult to describe, who you are as a person. We often define ourselves by our job title, or family position, or my hobbies. Me? I’ll describe myself using all of the above.
I am a wife, mom, HR professional, bookworm and avid Crime Junkie living in beautifully green Pennsylvania. When I’m home I love to fill my time by sitting outside enjoying the yard with my husband, reading, watching crime documentaries, movies, and playing with my son. When I’m at work, I like to fill my office space with things that bring me joy, like many millennials I love Harry Potter and have decorated my space with HP items, mugs, and both inspirational and work-related wall posters. As an example, one of my posters describes how to give effective feedback – which is my favorite F word. Another talks about my office being a ‘safe space’. I’m very passionate about helping others and enjoy giving back to my community and donating to causes that are important such as SOSA. Professionally, I feel fulfilled when someone realizes their true potential and I’ve played a small part in helping them get there.
